At the Southern end of the sheltered water, the Wetlands and surrounding nesting grounds and islands are a proclaimed Ramsar Site by virtue of the numbers and variety of waders, migrants, vagrants - a Birder's paradise. 

Hiking trails, bird, game and whale watching can be arranged with local specialist guides.  Water sport: windsurfing, canoeing, fishing, sailing, leisure boat trips are all available nearby.  Don't forget to visit the West Coast Fossil Park....
